Position Overview

The Senior Project Accountant is a key member of the Moss team, responsible for reviewing contracts and agreements for accounting-related information. This role involves reviewing and preparing financial statements for projects, following Moss' policies and procedures, and communicating potential profitability or risk to management in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review owner contracts, addendums, and exhibits to ensure financial and risk compliance.
  • Interpret and understand owner contract requirements related to project finances.
  • Review and verify coding and approval of invoices processed for assigned projects.
  • Maintain a Notice to Owner Log in established enterprise software.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Enter budgets for new or added phases of projects.
  • Manage subcontractor billings, tracking, and payments through Textura.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly submittals to clients.
  • Assist with accounts receivable collection as requested.
  • Monitor and manage all accounts created for projects.
  • Prepare and document items required for subcontractor check release.
  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll time sheet entry and collection for job sites.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate owner billing reconciliations to job cost.
  • Assist Project Managers with accounting reports and issues.
  • Monitor sub-guard programs with the risk department.
  • Work with Project Managers and CCIP Coordinators to manage CCIP, OCIP, or corporate insurance programs.
  • Monitor and work with EBIX and project teams to ensure subcontractor compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of work experience in project accounting with a general contractor.
  • Efficient and proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to take initiative, work as a team player, and think independently.
  • Proficient working knowledge of cost analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
