The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for executing basic and intermediate radiologic procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist.

This role involves:

  • Performing essential radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Engaging with patients to clarify procedures, gather clinical history, and ensure understanding of the process.
  • Positioning patients accurately and selecting appropriate exposure factors for various radiologic tests while ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identifying patients and labeling images accurately, verifying requisitions against physician orders to maintain exam precision, and processing images to ensure high-quality radiographs.
  • Collaborating with Radiologists for assistance and consultation.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards and entering patient and study data into the radiology information system, including documenting billing codes for procedures performed.
  • Executing patient positioning and transportation tasks, which may require physical lifting and proper technique.

Scheduled Hours

This position includes shifts every other Tuesday and Thursday, as well as every Friday, covering 10-hour shifts. Additional hours will be allocated to fill any vacant shifts as needed. There are no required weekends or holidays.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be obtained within six months.

Educational Background

Completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology beyond high school is required.

Experience & Skills

Prior experience with C-arm technology is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Understanding of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills for effective collaboration with physicians, patients, and staff.
  • Able to work independently and possess intermediate computer skills.
