Afton Properties is a leading real estate management company that prioritizes the upkeep and maintenance of its properties to ensure a healthy and safe environment for its residents. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance Associate to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Associate will be responsible for the upkeep of grounds, including removing, cleaning, and collecting trash, debris, and light vegetation from the property's amenities, building exteriors, offices, parking lots, and common areas. Additionally, the Porter/Groundskeeper will assist the onsite maintenance staff in their duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grounds Maintenance: Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, and ensure the building entrance is free of clutter at all times.
  • Porter/Groundskeeper Duties: Run errands for management and employees, fix minor technical issues, maintain stock of cleaning supplies, and clean interior and exterior areas of buildings.
  • Seasonal Cleaning Tasks: Perform additional seasonal cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate equipment and tools, including power tools, hand tools, and heavy machinery.
  • Travel and Transportation: Travel between properties as needed, including driving a vehicle or using public transportation.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to understand instructions verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, multi-task, and have good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work around chemical cleaning solutions.
  • Ability to frequently stand and walk.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies, often weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights, including on roofs and in attics.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces or mechanical rooms.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
