Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional leadership in the delivery of patient care, utilizing AIDET principles and Managing Up concepts.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring that equipment is in safe operating condition and that patients receive high-quality care.
  • Participate in patient rounds, ensuring that treatments and therapies are provided in accordance with physician orders and approved medical protocols.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to suggest changes in therapies and provide feedback during the orientation period.
  • Stay updated on hospital and departmental policies and procedures, prioritizing and addressing conflicting requests for respiratory care services.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a two-year advanced practitioner - Accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
  • Registry eligible, with a current RRT credential and valid State of Michigan License in Respiratory Care.
  • Maintains or obtains additional credentialing as appropriate for their area of expertise, such as CPFT, RPFT, FCC, or NRP.
