Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive Senior Accountant with expertise in Joint Venture (JV) accounting and special projects to contribute to our rapidly expanding veterinary organization. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member with exceptional problem-solving abilities, assisting in all facets of the accounting function. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring candidates to be based in the Denver area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial records for our Joint Ventures.
- Examine month-end close JV journal entries and reconcile cash, prepaid, fixed assets, and other balance sheet JV accounts.
- Prepare quarterly cash distributions for Joint Ventures.
- Support the month-end reporting package by conducting analytics at JV locations, investigating any discrepancies, and preparing necessary journal entries.
- Facilitate the back-office integration of JV locations and play a crucial role in the WVP reconciliation process.
- Actively engage in the annual audit and tax audit of Joint Ventures.
- Assist with various broader projects, including:
- Developing and maintaining intricate monthly reconciliations, particularly for company-wide accounts receivable.
- Reviewing and aiding in the research and optimization of accounts receivable collections.
- Supporting Accounts Payable, Operations, and technology initiatives as required.
- Contributing significantly to process improvement and system implementations within the Accounting Department, assisting the Assistant Controller, Controller, and CFO as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Must reside in the greater Denver area.
- Minimum of 4 years of general ledger accounting experience, including reconciliation and month-end close expertise, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Big 4 or other public accounting firms is preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, with a strong command of lookups and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with US GAAP.
- Strong customer service orientation with a positive and professional demeanor.
- Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with a willingness to delve into details and resolve issues.
- Highly detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Prior experience with Sage Intacct and acquisitions/integrations is a plus but not mandatory.
