About Our Organization: New England Aquarium is a non-profit organization dedicated to marine animal health, conservation, and education.


Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Aquarium Plumbing Engineer to join our Campus Operations Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining our complex plumbing systems, ensuring the safety and well-being of our animals and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and install new plumbing systems, including pumps, filtration systems, and piping systems
  • Inspect and overhaul components of our plumbing systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation
  • Lay out projects, prepare materials lists, and complete installations or repairs as assigned
  • Perform maintenance requests on all plumbing systems as submitted in our Corrective Maintenance Management System
  • Assist during snow removal operations and assist other colleagues in Facilities as needed

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Massachusetts Apprentice Plumber License or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with plumbing systems, including designing and installing pumps, filtration systems, and other plumbing systems
  • Welding, electrical, and chiller/HVAC experience preferred
  • Valid drivers' license and MA Hoist License or willingness to train and obtain a license

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
