Job Title: Pipe Maintenance Technician


About Us: New England Aquarium is a leading aquarium in the US, known for its conservation efforts and aquatic exhibits.


Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Pipe Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our complex plumbing systems, ensuring the safety of our animals and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems throughout the aquarium, including pumps, filtration systems, and piping systems
  • Inspect and overhaul components of our plumbing systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure efficient operation
  • Lay out projects, prepare materials lists, and complete installations or repairs as assigned
  • Perform maintenance requests on all plumbing systems as submitted in our Corrective Maintenance Management System
  • Assist during snow removal operations and assist other colleagues in Facilities as needed

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Massachusetts Apprentice Plumber License or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with plumbing systems, including maintaining pumps, filtration systems, and other plumbing systems
  • Welding, electrical, and chiller/HVAC experience preferred
  • Valid drivers' license and MA Hoist License or willingness to train and obtain a license
