We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacy Manager to join our team at OU Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the pediatric clinical pharmacy services and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Establish and implement policies, practices, and procedures for pediatric clinical pharmacy services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise and manage pediatric clinical pharmacy staff, including interviewing, hiring, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining staff.
- Actively participate in the professional development of staff through delegation, counseling, and performance evaluation.
- Clinical Pharmacy Services
- Develop and implement systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through the use of safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies.
- Provide management interventions related to pharmacy-related issues of patient care through communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pathways, formulary management, pharmacoeconomics, and therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Operational Management
- Responsible for the operational management of assigned pediatric clinical service areas, ensuring the consistent provision of high-quality patient care and clinical service growth.
- Identify opportunities for proactive change in the medication-use system to improve clinical efficacy, operational efficiency, and patient safety.
- Collaboration and Liaison
- Serve as the primary liaison to the OU College of Pharmacy for experiential/residency programs.
- Education
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy degree program.
- Completion of a PGY1 ASHP-accredited residency program required.
- Completion of PGY2 ASHP-accredited residency program with emphasis on pediatrics preferred.
- Experience
- 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in a pharmacy setting required.
- Pediatrics experience preferred.
- License/Certification
- Licensed as a Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Ph.) by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy required.
- If licensed in a state that is not Oklahoma, must be licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of employment.
- Certificate as a preceptor by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy when eligible.
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred, pediatric specialty preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of current pharmacy-related rules, regulations, requirements, best practices, and standards.
- Knowledge related to one or more of the clinical service areas.
- Supervisory skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the management skills of planning, controlling, coordinating, and measuring departmental activities.
