Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Inspectors - Contract

We are seeking experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Inspectors to join our team on a contract basis. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of industrial materials and equipment.

Job Description:

As an Electrical and Instrumentation Inspector, you will be assigned to various industrial projects related to vendor/shop inspections or vendor surveillance. Your duties will include:

  • Conducting visual/physical inspections of industrial materials and equipment
  • Witnessing testing and reviewing QA/QC documentation, including MTRs
  • Issuing reports of findings within a specific time limit

You will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement/sub-contractor agreement with SGS North America Inc. Work will be assigned on an as-needed basis, and you will be paid for the hours/days and other applicable cost items for the hours/days spent on the assigned work.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Electrical and/or Instrumentation Journeyman certification
  • Other E&I Trade Certification
  • Understanding and familiarity with applicable codes and standards, such as NEC, IEEE, and ANSI, plus relevant safety regulations
  • Ability to read and understand schematic wiring drawings
  • Working knowledge of PLC and associated instruments
  • Experience with LV, MV, and HV equipment, such as switchgear and protection devices
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with inspection work
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry and Power and Utility is preferred

You must be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. Proficiency in using computer software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is also required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition, are essential. Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail are also necessary.

The pay range for this role is $35 to $55 per hour, and mileage for round-trip driving will be reimbursed at cost. For extended traveling, all expense items will be reimbursed at cost against receipts.

Work Schedule:

This is an ad-hoc role, with work assigned on an as-needed basis.
