Reporting to the VP/CNO, this role is responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of the patient care delivery framework and associated nursing standards in partnership with the nursing leadership team. The position emphasizes the enhancement of patient care quality while providing strategic leadership, coordination, and evaluation of operational activities.
- Collaborate with the VP/CNO to strategize, organize, and assess nursing practice standards across all departments.
- Maintain 24/7 accountability for staff supervision, ensuring optimal patient care through efficient resource management.
- Encourage mentorship, coaching, and teamwork within a supportive work environment to achieve high-quality services and employee satisfaction.
- Drive organizational objectives and provide strategic recommendations to the VP/CNO for growth initiatives.
- Oversee the financial management of the department, ensuring effective use of resources and demonstrating analytical skills to support decision-making.
- Facilitate communication across departments to enhance clinical service operations and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Work with Quality Department Leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and implement quality and safety initiatives.
- Foster a culture of service excellence and act as a role model for staff and patient interactions.
- Promote open communication and ensure information dissemination for effective operations and positive employee relations.
- Partner with Human Resources to guide nursing management in employee engagement and labor relations, participating in negotiations as necessary.
- Commit to personal and professional development to stay current in the field, applying evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with the Department of Professional Development to create educational programs that enhance staff skills and promote professional growth.
- Support nursing leadership and staff participation in shared governance, acting as a mentor in this model.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree in nursing is mandatory. A Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field is essential.
Experience:
A minimum of five years in Nursing Leadership with a similar scope of responsibilities is required. Nursing Executive Certification and membership in a professional healthcare organization are preferred.
Licensure:
Valid RN License in New York and Connecticut is required.
