Position Overview:
The role involves performing key Warehouse & Pipeyard functions, with opportunities to specialize in specific areas, while offering guidance and support to both permanent and temporary warehouse staff. Collaboration with branch management is essential to meet productivity and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
The individual must be capable of executing essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Communicate and train on safety protocols to ensure adherence to safe working practices;
- Receive and inspect materials, tools, and equipment from suppliers;
- Organize and transfer materials, tools, and equipment to designated storage areas based on a predetermined system, including identification by location, size, type, style, and length;
- Label materials with accurate identification;
- Manage the transfer of materials for packaging orders in boxes and pallets as needed;
- Compile customer orders from stock and prepare packaging as required;
- Prepare orders for delivery and facilitate stock transfers, utilizing forklifts, overhead cranes, and heavy machinery;
- Record inventory data (incoming and outgoing) in the SIMS system, employing handheld scanners as necessary;
- Assist in maintaining site inventory through participation in inventory audits;
- Review various periodic reports for content, including traffic and mill test reports;
- Prepare shipping documentation for various carriers;
- Support the Pipeyard/Warehouse Manager/Supervisor in assigning daily tasks to warehouse staff;
- Lead and guide Pipeyard/Warehouse Associates in their work responsibilities when required;
- Establish effective working relationships with local management, corporate personnel, and other branch staff using appropriate communication skills;
- Adhere to MRC's ethical standards and hold others accountable for compliance;
- Exercise due diligence for the safety and health of oneself and others; report any workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.
Any combination of qualifications that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities to perform essential duties will be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a pipe yard and/or warehouse setting;
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills with leadership capabilities.
- Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status;
- Proficiency in reading and speaking English to communicate effectively, understand safety instructions, and respond to inquiries;
- Ability to comprehend and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, including the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
