Oncology Travel Nurse Position

Tact Staff is currently seeking a travel nurse RN specializing in Oncology for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.

Position Overview & Requirements

  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Employment Type: Travel

Client Offer:
Ratios: 1:4+
1.5 years of acute care experience required.
First-time travelers accepted.
Every other weekend and holiday shifts required.
ACLS/BLS/CHEMO certifications are mandatory.
Floating to all inpatient oncology units when not needed on the primary unit.
Potential to float to other Intermediate Care areas based on unit needs.
No block scheduling available.
Local candidates are welcome.
Patient Mix: Medical oncology unit with BMT overflow, new leukemia inductions, multiple transfusions, count recovery, and hematology; 5 bed intermediate care.

Required Skills: Experience in PCU and inpatient oncology, knowledge of leukemia/blood dyscrasias, lymphoma/Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, port access/care and management, central lines/infusion pumps/PICC lines/starting IVs, PCA pump management, tele monitoring and interpretation, and neutropenic precautions.
