Role Overview

As a Product Design Engineer at Apple, you will be part of a small and visible team of world-class Mechanical Engineers responsible for designing the future of Apple's wearable product line. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to life, focusing on the mechanical aspects of the Watch in various sizes and materials.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires international travel (15%+) and demands creativity in problem-solving, dynamic thinking, and adaptability to new technical areas. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, CAD design, and materials knowledge. Additionally, you will work on designing for manufacturability, assembly, and mass production, as well as applying statistical tools and techniques.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a BSME or MS degree, 3-7 years of experience in detailed part and product design, and a strong background in CAD and drawings (GD&T). You should also have experience working with overseas manufacturers and a working knowledge of FEA. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think outside the box, are essential for this role.
