Job Summary:

UF Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider I (APP I) to join our Community Health and Family Medicine team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals, and contribute to the development of health education programs and materials.

Responsibilities:

Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests as needed. Formulate comprehensive health management plans in collaboration with physicians and other medical professionals. Facilitate patient participation in making healthcare decisions. Review and prescribe medications and treatments, and provide timely referrals to patients in need of further medical care. Educate and counsel patients and families regarding their healthcare, including routine health maintenance. Enter pertinent clinical information in the patient's medical record in a timely and accurate manner. Document and close open encounters, MyChart messages, and other EMR communications in accordance with institutional requirements. May provide education and instruction, and participate in call coverage as needed.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program required. Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner License and Physician Assistant License required at time of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and PALS certification preferred. 2 years of experience in an outpatient setting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Knowledge of regulatory agency standards, nursing standards, and Florida Nurse Practice Act. Ability to assess patient health and measure/record physiologic and growth indices. Knowledge of acute and chronic care protocols, administration of medications, and delivering physical care following treatment plan. Knowledge of health promotion principles, techniques, and patient learning measurements. Ability to develop health education programs and materials, and make responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
