As the Construction Site Assistant Manager, you will support the Lead Construction Superintendent in overseeing building projects and managing the daily operations involved in constructing new structures or renovations. Your role will include assessing the resources required for assigned construction projects and supervising onsite personnel. You will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that all aspects of the construction process are monitored from initial planning through to project completion. Additionally, you will uphold quality standards to guarantee the safety and security of the construction site, acting as a liaison between contractors, the relocation team, and property management throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Lead Construction Superintendent with all site activities and projects.
- Contributing to the development and upkeep of the site logistics plan in collaboration with the project team.
- Supporting the management of the project permit process.
- Helping to manage a team of workers, including scheduling, tracking project progress, and resource allocation.
- Assisting in overseeing the requisition process to ensure that completed work aligns with billing.
- Coordinating the delivery of materials and equipment with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintaining the project’s daily log and preparing weekly reports for Project Executives.
- Participating in onsite project meetings and calls.
- Guiding the design team (Architect and Engineer) to ensure quality and constructability are achievable.
- Attending punch-list walks and managing the completion process.
- Assisting with permit and project close-out activities.
- Conducting site walk-throughs with Owners/Partners as necessary.
- Performing other related duties as required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Strong collaborative and organizational abilities, with keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills, including writing and active listening.
- Understanding of construction/building equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenance indicators.
- A mature professional with sound judgment.
- A self-motivated, results-oriented individual with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from management, vendors, and associates.
- Capable of adhering to tight deadlines and delivering quick turnaround on tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment where adaptability is crucial.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations.
- Superintendent Licenses preferred but not mandatory.
- Site Safety Licenses, such as OSHA 30, are advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, Project, and Bluebeam is preferred.
- A degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or relevant on-the-job training is viewed favorably.
