Physician (Dermatologist) - Clinical Expertise

This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants will be referred each week for consideration until a selection is made.
Responsibilities- Assesses and analyzes data relevant to the Dermatology Section and places a high priority on enhancing personalized, proactive patient-driven care, as well as a culture of compliant business integrity.
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, consultation, and provision of care and follow-up to patients with benign and malignant disorders of the integumentary system (Skin, mouth, external genitalia, hair, and nails), and sexually transmitted diseases.
- Works towards achieving Dermatology goals in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Assists the Chief of Dermatology with the clinical practice and works in collaboration with Physicians Assistants, inpatient and outpatient consults, electronic chart reviews, outpatient clinics, telehealth clinics, trainee education, and research.
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
- Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations and able to shift priorities based on patient needs.
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement.
Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
Basic Requirements: Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States. Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Licensure & Registration: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed a residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty Dermatology Residency Training Program leading to eligibility for board certification.
