About the Role

Cumulus Media is seeking a highly skilled Broadcast IT Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the technical staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer systems, LAN/WAN networks, and telecommunication equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain maximum up-time for all computer systems and LAN/WAN networks
  • Follow routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all network and computer equipment
  • Assist with the installation and maintenance of control consoles, audio routers, recording equipment, microphones, digital audio systems, transmitters, antennas, control systems, and remote equipment
  • Ensure systems are patched and software is up-to-date, and anti-virus software is current and operating correctly
  • Be available 24/7 for off-air emergencies
  • Travel to other markets or towers and stations as required
  • Collaborate with management and staff at all levels to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Windows Server 2003, 2008, XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Microsoft IIS, Apache, Mac iOS, Microsoft Office, and Exchange clients
  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols, including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IP Multicast, and VOIP
  • Experience with internet security, including firewalls, intrusion detection services, NAT, policy routing, DMZ, and VPN
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN architectures, including Ethernet, Spanning Tree, ISL, and Point-to-Point Circuits
  • Experience with Cisco PIX/ASA firewalls, Cisco Switches, Cisco IP Routers, and Cisco VOIP
  • Ability to interact with management and staff at all levels and handle pressures and deadlines
  • Proficiency in computer audio, including WAV, MP2, MP3, and AAC
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb stairs and ladders
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in an IT-related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft MCSE certification
  • Cisco CCNA or above certification
  • SBE CBNT certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Continuing education to maintain knowledge on the latest systems and technology
  • Valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle insurance
