Position Overview:
The County of Winona is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant County Attorney. This position involves providing legal and advisory services in both criminal and civil law, ensuring effective representation of the county and its personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant County Attorney, your duties will include:

  1. Identifying and resolving legal issues faced by county officials and employees.
  2. Conducting outreach and committee work to enhance the effectiveness of county services in the legal system.
  3. Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations by county departments.
  4. Representing the county in litigation, including preparing cases for trial and negotiating settlements.
  5. Reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents.
  6. Conducting legal research and applying relevant laws in case preparation.
  7. Handling less complex legal matters, including criminal prosecutions.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
