About This Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs Houston Healthcare System. As a valued member of our anesthesia care team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical center.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for performing pre-anesthesia evaluations, preparing anesthesia plans, delivering all forms of anesthesia, and following up on all general anesthesia cases. You will also administer inhalation, regional, intravenous, local, and topical anesthetics, and continuously evaluate patients' physical status and responses to anesthesia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations to assess patients' overall health and identify potential risks or complications.
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Administer various types of anesthesia, including inhalation, regional, intravenous, local, and topical anesthetics.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia education program approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
  • Certified/Board Eligible (Preferred).
  • Extensive training/experience with thoracic, cardiac (including open heart), and robotic cases, vascular, neurosurgery anesthesia, and training and familiarity in regional anesthesia (Preferred).
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $194,834-$245,611 per year, which reflects the value we place on our CRNAs' expertise and dedication. Additionally, we provide:
