Job Title: Wound Care Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Wound Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in the management of patients with complex wounds, providing expert care and education to patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
* Assess and develop individualized care plans for patients with wounds, including debridement and negative pressure wound therapy
* Educate patients and their families on wound care and management
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
* Participate in in-service presentations to educate hospital and home care staff on wound care best practices
* Develop and update wound care programs to promote patient education and care
Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
* Training and experience in debridement and negative pressure preferred
* Current Texas RN license required
* CPR (American Heart Association) certification
* Wound Care certification or in progress
Work Environment:
* CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline is a state-of-the-art acute care medical facility with a full range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services
* Our hospital is a teaching facility in affiliation with the Texas A&M University System Health and Science Center College of Medicine
* We are accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Joint Commission Stroke Team
