Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with complex wounds and ostomies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement evidence-based wound care plans to promote optimal healing and patient outcomes.
- Provide advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff on wound management, including pressure ulcer prevention and treatment.
- Conduct educational programs and clinical instruction for Emory Healthcare staff and students on wound care and ostomy management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients with complex wounds and ostomies.
- Perform pre-operative stoma site marking and ostomy education, as well as post-operative ostomy education and care planning.
- Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
- Two years of recent (within the past five years) Registered Nursing experience.
- Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program.
- Certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months.
- Certification in Continence Care is preferred.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of patient acuity. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based setting, communicate complex information to patients and families, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
