This is a dynamic role with the Medical Staff Council of Chester County, working as a Nursing Unit Clerk within our Healthcare Team. As an integral part of our organization, you will contribute to department organization and patient care delivery within hospital policies.
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a role model of service excellence, greeting others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Operate the telephone, answering calls within 2-3 rings, and transfers calls as needed.
- Support individual communication strategies, such as using a whiteboard.
- Contribute to direct and indirect patient care, performing basic tasks to support patient needs.
- Review physician orders, enter communication orders, and retrieve lab specimen labels.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and assist in maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
- Participate in unit performance improvement activities, and assist in data collection and analysis.
- Act as a patient advocate, and perform effectively in the role of preceptor/mentor to new hires and/or students.
Requirements:
- H.S. Diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge.
- Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to follow directions.
- Strong organizational skills, proficient keyboarding skills, and medical terminology knowledge.
