Marriage and Family Therapy Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team. This role offers flexibility with options for both full-time and part-time schedules.
The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is responsible for delivering patient-focused care that addresses a variety of mental health challenges for individuals and families. This position involves working with a diverse population across different socioeconomic backgrounds and age groups within a collaborative healthcare setting. The therapist will operate under the guidance of the Director of Mental Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical services including initial assessments, brief therapeutic interventions, crisis evaluations, and phone triage for patient referrals.
- Assess and interview patients to identify psychosocial, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Complete comprehensive clinical evaluations, including bio-psychosocial assessments and standardized outcome measures.
- Utilize DSM-5 criteria to formulate diagnoses.
- Provide mental health interventions, including individual and family therapy, and crisis management for patients experiencing mild to moderate conditions. Refer patients with severe mental health issues to appropriate services.
- Develop and regularly update treatment plans to assist patients in achieving their therapeutic goals in accordance with established best practices.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation through electronic health record systems.
- Ensure adherence to evidence-based treatment protocols.
- Comply with mandatory reporting requirements, including those related to child and elder abuse.
- Meet productivity standards set by the organization, including required scheduling and billable service units.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, medical professionals, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive support services for patients.
- Engage in the peer review process for mental health professionals.
- Supervise MSW interns as needed.
- Be prepared to handle sensitive information related to sexual matters due to the nature of the role.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including participation in safety programs and emergency response teams.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work or a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Current licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
- Demonstrated excellence in assessment and problem-solving skills; self-motivated and efficient.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with strong organizational skills.
- Capability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Proficient in computer usage.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred.
- Current CPR certification is required.
