About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at Sysco. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration with an assigned territory by effectively selling our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain business relationships with current and prospective customers in the assigned territory to generate new business for Sysco's products and services.
  • Make in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers to promote and sell our products.
  • Take customer orders with Sysco's goals in mind, focusing on sales and gross profit maximization.
  • Participate in the review and oversight of customer orders via communication with inside sales partners.
  • React timely to customer problems and needs, ensuring prompt resolution and satisfaction.
  • Review and analyze daily and weekly sales and margin reports to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, and trends in the industry.
  • Participate in Sysco's training and customer events, as well as sales meetings with Sysco Sales leaders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma, with a preferred 4-year degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agriculture/animal science, or related studies.
  • 2 years of prior food service and/or sales experience, with a strong background in the meat and seafood category or restaurant/culinary industry.
  • Deep expertise in the meat and seafood category or restaurant/culinary background, with a proven ability to quickly learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Consultative sales ability, with strong customer relations skills and a sense of urgency in meeting customer needs.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Outlook.
