Position Overview:

In the role of Tier 3 Senior Technical Engineer, you will be instrumental in providing high-level technical support and solutions for intricate IT challenges. This position demands extensive technical knowledge, a problem-solving approach, and the capability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Offer guidance and mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality support. It is essential for escalation engineers to uplift lower-tier technicians in technical, client, procedural, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to networking, servers, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Solution Design: Develop and implement solutions tailored to client needs and aimed at enhancing system performance.
  • Service Tickets: Engineers are expected to manage assigned tickets on appropriate boards and maintain service tickets within SLA.
  • Projects: Participation in projects is expected, with varying levels of involvement based on position.
  • On Call: Engineers are required to fulfill regular on-call duties or serve as backup on-call.
  • Client Interaction: Engage effectively with clients to comprehend their technical requirements and deliver customized solutions.
  • Documentation: Generate and sustain comprehensive documentation for troubleshooting procedures, solutions, and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance our service offerings continuously.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a senior technical support or engineering capacity, with a robust background in MSP environments. Management or leadership experience is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Cisco CCNP are advantageous.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with the proficiency to resolve complex issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
