Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, guests, and family members.
- Ensure all patient required forms are completed and accurate.
- Efficiently input patient/guarantor demographic and financial information.
- Explain insurance benefits and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay portions due.
- Perform vital signs and other screenings, obtaining height, weight, allergy, and medication history.
- Prepare patients for exams, explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments by phone or in person.
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and communicating effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
- Related experience in a clinic or medical office setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), or Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
