Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Rappahannock Area Community Service Board. As a Residential Crisis Stabilization Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive treatment and support services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct multi-dimensional assessments and make recommendations for the least restrictive level of care for individuals experiencing substance use challenges.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans, providing supportive counseling and advocacy for individuals with substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and services, ensuring a seamless transition for individuals from crisis stabilization to ongoing treatment and support.
  • Provide individual and group substance use skills restoration and psychoeducation, utilizing evidence-based interventions and modalities.
  • Facilitate discharge planning and coordination of care, ensuring individuals receive necessary resources and support for ongoing recovery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field.
  • One year of experience working with substance use and mental health populations preferred.
  • Valid Virginia CSAC Certification eligibility required.
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional-A (QMHP) certification required.
