Job Title: Wildwood Lead Instructor

Join the Park Ridge Park District team as a Wildwood Lead Instructor, responsible for planning and implementing nature programming for ages 2-12, scout programs, special events, and birthday parties.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading day-to-day classroom activities, infusing environmental education and outdoor exploration, and providing direction and coaching to assistant instructors. This role requires a minimum of two years of experience working with and supervising children and young adults, as well as the ability to maintain self-control, composure, motivate, and solve problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement nature programming for ages 2-12, scout programs, special events, and birthday parties
  • Lead day-to-day classroom activities, infusing environmental education and outdoor exploration
  • Provide direction and coaching to assistant instructors
  • Maintain records and communication with parents
  • Lead groups of children on 30-90 minute nature hikes in all weather conditions
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with and supervising children and young adults
  • Ability to maintain self-control, composure, motivate, and solve problems
  • Intermediate level of experience in written and verbal communication in the English Language
  • Microsoft Office skills required
  • Current First-Aid and CPR Certification or ability to become certified within three months of hire
