We are seeking an exceptional Principal Reliability Scientist to lead research specific to reliability for Amazon Fulfillment Facilities. As a member of the Amazon Worldwide Fulfillment Design & Engineering Team, you will drive innovation through scientific inquiry, providing tangible benefits to hundreds of thousands of associates worldwide.

">Key Responsibilities">
  1. Failure-Based Approach: Employ analytical and empirical methods to identify and evaluate reliability risks at facility design, MHE selection, and deployment stages.">
  2. Research Leadership: Lead activities related to Design for Reliability (DfR) initiatives, develop predictive modeling techniques, and test plans.">
  3. AI-Powered Solutions: Combine data, machine learning, and domain knowledge to anticipate reliability risks, increase uptime, manage costs, and improve productivity.">
  4. Reliability Standards: Identify gaps in current standards and guidelines, leading comprehensive research to redefine industry best practices based on solid scientific foundations.">
  5. Professional Development: Continuously gain in-depth knowledge of your profession and intersecting fields like robotics and mechatronics.">
  6. Site Assessments: Travel to various sites to perform thorough assessments and gain operational feedback, approximately 25%-50% of the time.">
  7. Executive Communication: Regularly communicate with Executive management regarding status, risks, and operational program metrics.">
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS">

A PhD or Master's degree in Reliability Engineering or a related field is required, along with 10+ years of relevant work experience in Design, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering in Automotive, Industrial, or High-Tech industries. You should have experience in automotive, industrial, or high-tech hardware Reliability Engineering roles, as well as knowledge of reliability prediction software such as Weibull ++.

">PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS">

Experience developing new analytical and test reliability methods in complex product development environments and defining and structuring reliability-based research is preferred.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $170,500/year to $294,700/year, depending on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
