Banquet Captain

Job Summary:
The Banquet Captain is a key member of our events team, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of banquets and events at the Emerald Queen Hotel & Casinos. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training and guidance to restaurant staff assigned to banquets.
- Assist shift managers with performance evaluations of staff, providing input on performance.
- Execute and follow directions on Banquet Event Orders, ensuring any special requests are met.
- Oversee the set-up and tear-down of banquet rooms and event areas, ensuring they are set up as directed.
- Oversee the food and beverage service, ensuring items are served and presented appropriately.
- Coordinate and maintain communications between Food and Beverage staff assigned to the banquet or event.
- Notify all department contacts of any changes to the event, problems, or issues.
- Address guests' concerns in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
- Invoice guests at the conclusion of the banquet, based on all items, guests, and the banquet event order, accounting for all items and receiving the guests' signature.
- Accept payments for events, ensuring the check is posted to the master account.
- Ensure all banquet/event staff signs in and out on the sign-in sheets.
- Complete Captains' report at the end of the event, including details on event delivery and comments from the host.
- Inventory, order, stock, and store all banquet equipment.
- Coordinate and attend mandatory and pre-shift meetings.
- Perform Assistant Restaurant Shift Manager and Restaurant Shift Manager assignments.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Two or more years serving in events or banquets.
- Prior Banquet Captain experience is preferred.
- Additional education/experience may substitute for the minimum requirements of the position.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to work all scheduled shifts, including day, swing, graveyard, and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment illegal drug screen and obtain a Class IIIB license as required by the Puyallup Tribal Gaming Regulatory Office and the Washington State Gaming Commission.
