As a Patient Transporter at UPMC, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients within the hospital. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relay critical patient information to the Patient Transport supervisor or Nurse on the Unit
- Display a thorough knowledge of obtaining, setting up, removing, cleaning, and storing traction equipment
- Perform daily traction inspections and clean and store equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient transportation
- Maintain accurate records of patient transportation and equipment usage
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in patient transportation or a related field preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina to perform duties of patient transportation
