Opportunity Overview

Stantec is seeking a skilled MicroStation CAD Designer to join our Environmental Services team in Richmond or Fredericksburg, Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support on various transportation, municipal, utility, and land use related environmental, ecosystem restoration, and water resources projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare plans for stream restoration, stormwater management, water quality improvement projects, plats, environmental inventory maps, permit support graphics, and report graphics to support environmentally related projects.
  • Develop customized maps for clients and ensure timely and effective project delivery.
  • Interact with clients to secure and transmit digital information.
  • Participate in team-based and independent work.
  • Review discipline-related drawings and documents.
  • Ensure drawings meet project scope, client specifications, and standards.
  • Verify drawings are dimensionally clear, complete, and correct.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ability to utilize/import raster and vector data, including digital orthophotos, global positioning data, and geographic information system data.
  • Proficiency in Computer Assisted Drafting/Design (CADD), MS Office, and other related applications.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting transportation and land plans.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple and varied deadlines.
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Microstation V8i drafting/design/CADD experience.
  • CADD drafting skills using Open Roads, AutoCadd 2020, and Civil 3D, and Arc-GIS a plus.
