Job Summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in a full-time School-Based RN position. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to students and their families in our school-based health clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Management: Respond to requests from students, caregivers, and clients regarding medication effectiveness, side effects, and special precautions, and consult with medical staff as needed.
  • Documentation: Oversee documentation in the Medication Administration Record (MAR) and provide corrections as necessary.
  • Health Screenings: Conduct health screenings as needed and direct students and clients to appropriate integrated medical care services.
  • Education and Support: Provide educational groups and one-on-one teaching to students, caregivers, and clients concerning medications, diagnosis, and health-related issues.
  • Clinical Documentation: Complete required clinical documents for review and approval by medical staff.
  • Treatment Planning: Participate in reviews and modifications of students' and clients' services during treatment planning.
  • Record Maintenance: Assist with maintenance of student health records, providing annual screenings, testing, and follow-up on immunizations through the Indiana Department of Education.
  • Liaison Services: Function as a liaison with students, caregivers, emergency rooms, physician offices, pharmacies, and the MHS Provider to clarify medication orders, obtain proper prescriptions, labs, testing, and referrals.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete other documentation to ensure accurate and timely information for client and third-party billing.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of nursing experience required.
