Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Northern Lights, Inc. as a Design and Development Specialist.

Salary:$65,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Description:

This role involves designing and developing mechanical equipment and systems for our marine and industrial power generation products. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document various components for AC Power generation equipment
  • Create assembly drawings for manuals owners
  • Perform calculations for systems and ensure designs comply with relevant codes
  • Size and select mechanical components
  • Maintain engineering and technical documentation
  • Create mechanical drawings related to new products being developed
  • Produce drawing revisions, engineering change notices and bills of materials
  • Provide mechanical engineering support to production, parts and sales staff
  • Collaborate with clients to approve mechanical designs
  • Assist with the assembly and development of Engineering prototypes using hand tools, measuring and testing equipment
  • Conduct testing, collect data and identify areas for improvement

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with others
  • Have problem-solving skills
  • Read blue prints
  • Technical writing experience is a plus
  • Works effectively with others in the Company to encourage teamwork and productivity

Other Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 0-3 years' experience in mechanical engineering design and development
  • Experience working with AutoCAD or SolidWorks Draftsight software required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook
