Job Summary

The Lounge Server is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for residents and guests in the lounge area. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to residents and guests in the lounge area.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with menu standards and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the lounge area, including tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage venues in the lounge are clean and well-maintained.
  • Follow menu cycle and note changes or substitutions made on proper forms.
  • Clean and maintain a neat, safe working environment, including the kitchen and food service areas.
  • Comply with state sanitation codes and maintain inventory control.
  • Report problems, concerns, and issues observed with food or beverage service and communicate them appropriately.
  • Observe changes in resident status, needs, or preferences and communicate with appropriate team members.
  • Record resident information as required.
  • Avoid loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
  • Adhere to procedures for fire, life, safety, disaster, security, worker safety, and other emergency procedures.
  • Adhere to and convey philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
  • Maintain the quality of food prepared and sample the food to ensure the quality of the food served to residents.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in dining room/lounge service and food prep preferred.
  • Prefer prior experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
  • Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other community staff.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
  • Meets all mandatory health requirements by state regulations.
  • Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision).
  • Maintains current Food Handlers card.
