Job Summary

Careers Integrated Resources Inc is seeking a highly skilled Intake Specialist to join our team. As an Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience from initial contact to registration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient insurance and demographics to ensure accurate billing and coding.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations and approvals for scheduled and pre-registered accounts.
  • Complete pre-registration for patients as required or requested.
  • Schedule new and follow-up patient appointments, communicating cancellations and rescheduling as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of clinical and office supplies, ordering within budget as assigned.
  • Ensure key client information is current and accurate to ensure patient safety, charging, coding, insurance processing, and billing accuracy.
  • Complete and document all governmental, regulatory, financial, and contractual forms in accordance with procedure.
  • Meet departmental targets for wait times, up-front collections, and registration timeliness.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating a caring, positive, professional, and helpful disposition with all customer interactions.
  • Participate in departmental QA, utilizing system work queues to minimize errors and improve processes.
  • Effectively precept new colleagues as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in patient access, registration, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and registration software.
