Job Summary

The Young Mens Christian Association of Rochester is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals at our aquatic facilities, both in and around the pool and the rest of the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all members.
  • Monitor pool areas and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and report any hazards or concerns to management.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to member inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a clean and sanitary facility.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Must have current YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
  • Must have CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification, AED, and Oxygen Administration.
  • Must have Basic First Aid certification.
  • Must demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend and stoop occasionally.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to spend long periods of time in the pool.
