Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Gundersen Lutheran-Harmony. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with basic care needs, including nutrition, elimination, comfort, mobility, and safety.
  • Transport and transfer patients within the medical complex using appropriate equipment and safety precautions.
  • Assist nursing staff in lifting and ambulating patients, maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to effectively communicate and document accurate information.
  • Demonstrate dependability, organizational skills, and effective time management to complete delegated work within established time frames.
Requirements
  • No education required; high school diploma or equivalency desired.
  • No experience required; 2 years of previous CNA experience desired.
  • Minnesota Registered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or ability to complete a training program approved by the registry within 4 months of hire.
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Work Environment

Exposed to infectious diseases. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Walking/standing continually (8 hours)
  • Stooping/bending frequently (5.5 hours)
  • Kneeling/half kneel occasionally (3 hours)
  • Climbing stairs occasionally (3 hours)
  • Reaching - shoulder level frequently (5.5 hours)
  • Reaching - below shoulder frequently (5.5 hours)
  • Reaching - above shoulder frequently (5.5 hours)
  • Push/pull (static force) occasionally (3 hours)
