We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Duke Raleigh Hospital. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate and effective radiation therapy to patients with cancer and other conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from Radiation Oncologists.
  • Prepare patients for treatment, ensuring accurate positioning and immobilization.
  • Deliver radiation therapy with minimal supervision, maintaining visual and audible communication with patients during treatment.
  • Monitor patient reactions and report any unusual events to nursing staff and Radiation Oncologists.
  • Assist in tumor localization procedures, preparation of immobilization devices, and dosimetry procedures.
  • Perform simulations, obtain port films, and present results at chart rounds.
  • Assume on-call status on a rotation basis and participate in departmental quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a 24-month course in radiology technology and a 12-month course in radiation therapy technology.
  • Current licensure as required by state or national authority and/or certification or board eligibility in Radiation Therapy by the American Registry of Radiology Technology.
  • Maintain ARRT certification in radiation therapy with a minimum of documented 12 hours of continuing education.
