Position Overview

The Guest Room Specialist collaborates with the Housekeeping Management Team to maintain cleanliness in guest accommodations and communal areas, ensuring adherence to brand standards for quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify the essence of Sonesta Service in all guest interactions, aligning with the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Address guest inquiries and special requests, taking necessary actions to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of designated rooms or areas following established protocols, including bed making, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and disposing of waste.
  • Inform supervisors upon completion of cleaning tasks to facilitate room availability for guests. Report any rooms that cannot be serviced as per established guidelines.
  • When assigned to laundry duties, oversee laundry supplies and equipment functionality. Operate washers and dryers in compliance with hotel standards and manufacturer instructions. Inspect soiled linens for damages or stains and manage clean linens accordingly.
  • Optimize the use of supplies and amenities throughout housekeeping operations.
  • Participate in deep cleaning initiatives as required.
  • Notify supervisors of necessary repairs or hazardous conditions.
  • Manage lost and found items in accordance with established protocols.
  • Foster teamwork and high-quality service through effective communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all levels.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in housekeeping is preferred.
  • Experience in the extended stay sector is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English is preferred; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills are preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility frequently.
  • Capability to lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Regular use of commercial cleaning agents is required.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.
