Job Summary

Larson Design Group is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating overall design activities, project submission schedules, and ensuring the final products meet the technical requirements and goals of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
  • Review submittals and coordinate project submissions.
  • Prepare and review specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports.
  • Complete inspections and field work assignments as needed.
  • Research and understand written regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and apply them to design projects.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of work and project records.
  • Possess knowledge of Codes and Standards applicable to project designs.
  • Develop technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings.
  • Promote and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors and omissions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET-accredited school, or related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years job-related experience. PennDOT or Pennsylvania Turnpike bridge design experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of the design and development process of transportation bridge projects and knowledge of AASHTO and PennDOT Design Manuals, Standards, Specifications, Engineering Software, and Microstation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microstation, Open Roads, InRoads (Surfaces and Templates), and other related software programs preferred.
  • Must have a strong desire to expand knowledge base and undertake new responsibilities.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Possess strong oral & written communication skills, and have strong organizational & time management skills
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a project team.
