Position Overview

The Fire Safety Systems Inspector is responsible for the thorough inspection, installation, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems across various commercial and residential properties. This role also includes troubleshooting and documenting any system-related issues.

In addition, the Fire Safety Systems Inspector will respond to urgent service requests and ensure that all systems are operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install or enhance fire alarm systems in both commercial and residential settings.
  • Test and repair existing alarm systems to ensure functionality.
  • Conduct inspections to verify compliance with safety codes.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports detailing any identified issues.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service requests.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe working environment.
  • Offer support and on-the-job training to fellow team members as required.
  • Update job statuses and track inspection permits to ensure timely completion.
  • Keep management informed of relevant matters concerning system inspections.
  • Adhere to the company dress code and uniform policy.
  • Maintain all necessary licenses, permits, and technical certifications required by regulatory agencies.
  • Foster and maintain professional relationships with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Organize and maintain essential documentation, including Acceptance Inspection forms and online inspection enrollments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proficient mechanical and/or electronic skills.
  • Ability to climb ladders safely.
  • Capability to distinguish colors accurately.
  • Consistent attendance record.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications.
  • Ability to work independently after receiving training.
  • Competence in troubleshooting and upgrading existing safety systems.
  • Experience in mentoring or training team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of network applications, codes, and standards relevant to the installation and repair of advanced security systems.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred vocational or trade school training in electrical, electronic, or communication systems.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
