Job Summary

Corewell Health is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team. As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, installing, maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical circuits, appliances, systems, fixtures, and related electrical controls and devices in compliance with all state and local electrical codes requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all electrical installations meet all elements of the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) as required by regulatory agencies (CMS, AOA, Joint Commission).
  • Responsible for all electrical equipment, including obtaining permits and performing electrical work as required by law.
  • Regularly inspect and evaluate electrical equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely, following recommended maintenance schedules for cleaning and lubricating equipment and maintaining records on equipment status and maintenance.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-saving measures and facility upgrades, including high-efficiency motors, electronic lighting, LED exit signs, etc.
  • Respond promptly to electrical trouble calls throughout BH, inspecting and repairing varied electrical systems/equipment, including lights, power distribution, fan motors, and the like.
  • Perform tests to ensure continuity of the circuit and compatibility and safety of all components using test equipment to locate malfunctions such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and the like.
  • Use appropriate tools and other special equipment to measure, cut, bend, thread wire, assemble, and install electrical conduits, junction switches, outlet boxes, and switchboards.
  • Study blueprints and schematics and determine methods, materials, personnel, and equipment needed to complete modifications to the electrical system.
Requirements
  • A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or graduation from a trade or vocational school.
  • 3 years of relevant experience or a level of knowledge normally acquired through a three to four-year electrical apprenticeship program.
  • 5 years of relevant experience or a minimum of five years journeyman experience.
  • Requires a demonstrated in-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems and electrical devices such as controls, switches, starters, transformers, motors, and panel boards.
  • LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a hospital environment.
  • Minor welding skills.
