Position Overview

The Warehouse Forklift Specialist is responsible for the efficient movement of pallets and various materials across different sections of the warehouse, ensuring that production demands are met effectively. This role includes loading and unloading customer transport vehicles, as well as hand-sorting pallets and repairing damaged wooden pallets as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make informed decisions regarding the movement of materials to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Operate forklifts by manipulating levers and pedals to control the lifting apparatus.
  • Position forks or other lifting devices under or around loaded pallets and transport them to designated areas.
  • Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols while operating forklifts with utmost care.
  • Accountable for achieving operational results while upholding company values and safety standards.
  • Hand-sort wooden pallets when required.
  • Repair wooden pallets using appropriate tools when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to foster a safe working environment.
  • Capable of following record-keeping instructions.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules.

  • Extended periods of sitting may be required.
  • Noise levels may vary based on location.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including eye protection and safety footwear.
  • Specific vision capabilities are necessary for this role, including close, distance, and color vision.
  • A good sense of balance and coordination is essential.
  • May need to lift pallets manually, weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.
