Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at BMS CAT. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates for construction rebuild projects and marketing to potential clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with national accounts, adjusters, and end users to secure new business opportunities.
  • Establish and manage a network of qualified subcontractors for various trades.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope and prepare detailed estimates for rebuild projects.
  • Collaborate with insurance representatives and customers to review estimates and job scopes, obtain approvals, and prepare necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain open communication with operations personnel to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Communicate with local management to address any project-related concerns or issues.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and proper protocol is followed for payment arrangements.
  • Follow up with insurance companies and customers to ensure timely payment and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare regular status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals, as well as reports on special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in estimating software, preferably Xactimate.
  • Knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials, waste, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing project efficiency.
  • Understanding of building and construction principles, including materials and methods required to complete projects successfully.
  • Ability to read and understand project specifications, plans, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, principles, and tools required to complete projects.
  • Understanding of the principles involved in showing, promoting, and selling services.
  • Ability to monitor processes and materials.
