Job Title: Respite Community Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Respite Community Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Samaritan Recovery Community. The ideal candidate will have a State of Tennessee Licensed Social Worker or a license in a behavioral health-related field, or a State of Tennessee LADAC license or eligibility (in process), with a minimum of one-year experience working with clients who have a substance abuse diagnosis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling to adults with addiction or co-occurring disorders.
  • Assess and support clients for admission to Samaritan Recovery Community's IR program and aid with transfers to other levels of care as needed.
  • Provide related program components, including lectures, focused group sessions, and other treatment/recovery support services as scheduled.
  • Ensure that all attendant paperwork and/or electronic record entries associated with treatment activities are completed within established time frames and in accordance with agency standards.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and submit all casework materials for general and selected review and discussion with supervisor.

Requirements:

  • State of Tennessee Licensed Social Worker or a license in a behavioral health-related field, or a State of Tennessee LADAC license or eligibility (in process).
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with clients who have a substance abuse diagnosis.
  • Familiarity with community resources and the ability to make appropriate referrals.
  • Good chart documentation, written, and oral communication skills.
