About the Position
As a key member of HARMAN's Global Trade Compliance Team, the Audit Lead will oversee the execution of systematic evaluations of compliance with regulatory frameworks, including US import/export laws and international trade regulations.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive audit strategies across the Global Trade Compliance landscape to ensure adherence to established policies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Global Trade Compliance to formulate the annual audit agenda in conjunction with Internal Audit.
- Manage complex audit assignments across various regions, utilizing both internal resources and external partners as necessary.
- Create and refine internal audit protocols and schedules to meet compliance objectives.
- Conduct on-site evaluations to ensure compliance with HARMAN's Trade Compliance Policy and related procedures.
- Provide recommendations for aligning procedures with regional operational needs.
Reporting and Improvement
- Prepare detailed audit reports, including gap analyses and proposed corrective actions to enhance compliance practices.
- Facilitate training and mentorship for team members in audit methodologies, fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in international trade compliance, internal auditing, or risk management is essential.
- Proficiency in automated compliance systems and advanced risk assessment techniques is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in audit or compliance-related discipline.
- Certification as a Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent.
- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or similar international certification is advantageous.
- High organizational skills and adaptability to a fast-paced, global environment.
