Global Operations Director

Are you a leader with a passion for driving global strategies to optimize performance across the organization? Emerson's Copeland business has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director of Global Operations.
This role is responsible for leading a global workforce of over 500 employees, dedicated to driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency and critical metric achievement, managing budgets, contributing to financial planning, and supervising global logistics while ensuring compliance with international safety and quality standards.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will support organizational growth and effectiveness, fostering a high-performance culture, and providing strategic direction for Copeland's global manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement global operations strategies to optimize performance and align with strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to improve critical metrics, including running monthly shipments, reducing inventory and backlog, improving inventory turns, achieving over 95% on-time delivery, and implementing global safety culture initiatives.
- Lead preparation and execution of operating and capital budgets, run global shipments, and report on performance metrics including President's Operations Report (POR) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
- Advise and lead the global operations facilities, including ensuring alignment with standards and regional requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among regional leaders, resolve issues, and ensure alignment across global operations.
- Conduct gap analyses to find opportunities for cost reduction, program improvement, and policy changes to enhance efficiency.
- Mentor and develop global teams, fostering a high-performance culture through effective coaching and talent development.
- Ensure compliance with international safety and quality standards, including environmental and OSHA guidelines.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to meet or exceed customer expectations and align with international standards.
- Align with global profitability plans, growth strategies, and financial reviews, ensuring accurate asset management and inventory records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field of study.
- Relevant years of global operations management experience with significant leadership responsibilities and a proven track record in leading large-scale production facilities, commensurate with the level of the position.
- Proven success in driving operational efficiency, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and enhancing performance metrics.
- Expertise in strategic planning, execution of global initiatives, and developing strategies, profitability plans, and growth initiatives.
- Proven financial leadership skills, including budget preparation, financial planning, and cost control.
- Extensive experience in global logistics and supply chain management, including leading global shipments and performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of international safety and quality standards, including compliance with ISO 9001.
- Validated ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and resolve issues across global operations.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA/Master's Degree in a relevant field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of global operations management experience with significant leadership responsibilities and a consistent track record in leading large-scale production facilities.
- Knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, and Six Sigma methodology.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), or APICS CPIM.
