Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to serve as the primary support for maintenance and facilities management within our community outreach facility. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for all visitors and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and perform maintenance and repairs on all facility systems, including carpentry, painting, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and safety of the facility grounds, ensuring they are visually appealing and well-maintained.
  • Manage facility-related tasks such as security, event setup and breakdown, daily cleaning, and preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for operations.
  • Maintain a safe environment by identifying and reporting any hazardous conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept in optimal condition through regular maintenance.
  • Handle deliveries and ensure proper routing within the facility.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and use equipment according to guidelines.
  • Embody the core values of our organization, focusing on hospitality, unity, and service.
  • Support the overall mission of the organization by taking on additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Proven experience in construction and repair, with knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of relevant experience in building maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in a church or community service environment is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in basic math and able to read measuring tools.
  • Capable of interpreting plans and instructions in English.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Strong independent work ethic with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards of service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Intermediate English communication skills are necessary for effective interaction.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle emergencies calmly.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

This position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for all. Regular attendance is crucial, and the role may involve weekend work and overtime as necessary.
