About the Role

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is seeking a highly skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our client's team in East Syracuse, NY. As a key member of the Radiation Oncology department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our client's private practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treatment Planning: Generate external beam treatment plans using VMAT, IMRT, 3D, and SBRT techniques to deliver precise radiation doses.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicists, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Anatomy and Radiation Safety: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of anatomy and radiation safety protocols to minimize risks and ensure accurate treatment plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality assurance checks on treatment planning systems and equipment to maintain optimal performance.
  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional patient care, including direct weekly chart rounds, simulation assistance, and fabrication of custom immobilization devices.
  • Education and Training: Participate in training and educating radiation therapy students, staff, and other healthcare professionals on applied dosimetry, equipment operation, and quality assurance.
  • Research and Development: Contribute to clinical research protocols and stay up-to-date with new technologies and advancements in radiation oncology.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Dosimetry or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in medical dosimetry, preferably in a private practice setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of radiation safety protocols, anatomy, and treatment planning systems.
  • Certifications: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or equivalent certification.
